Vintage Design
Copenhagen silversmith Axel Salomonsen made a variety of rosewood accessories with sterling silver (925s) intarsia during the late 1950s and 60s. This matchbox holder in solid rosewood features an abstract modernist impression that has been inlaid to its top. Hallmark: AS, Sterling, Denmark. Measurements: 11×7.5×5 cm. This type of rosewood (East Indian) does not require CITES for world wide export. Well-kept and clean vintage order. Light superficial ware and patina consistent with age.
