Antique Blue & White Canton Pattern Chinese Export Porcelain Soup Tureen

A fine antique Chinese export porcelain soup tureen.

In the Canton pattern.

Decorated in underglaze blue depicting a mountainous Chinese village to the top of the lid and the long sides of the body. The background has houses, mountains, and a pagoda. The midground is a river with boats and some more houses. The foreground depicts a bridge across the river, a rocky outcropping, trees, and another structure.

With figural boar’s head handles to either side of the body and a figural stem finial handle to the lid.

Simply a wonderful example of Canton porcelain!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
