Very large pitcher or ewer by Patrick L Dougherty, ceramic artist from Kentucky.

The big bellied vase grows from a rather narrow vase. It is decorated all over with squiggly white lines in triangles and rectangles on slate blue background. Interspersed are spirals, some hands and a moon and star or too as well as occasional dots of color. The main feature is a smiling pink and black moon face surmounted by a leafy garland. More leaves are painted on the handle.

MEASURES 13-3/8″ diameter x 22 tall.

Very good pre-owned condition. There are a few chips in the glaze—one on the body and a fgew on the base (see photos).
