Mannerist sculpture in carved walnut, Italy late 16th – early 17th century. Subject depicting a male figure with left arm folded over the chest in high relief that emerges from a semi-column, while at his feet a child kneeling in the round. Originally the upper part of a pilaster made hypothetically for a cabinet.
