Contemporary Design
Mydriaz Paris’s first textile creation is Lumière Noire. Motivated by a desire to experiment with new materials, the design firm has begun work on a set of three rugs inspired by the liquid finish developed in its workshop.
Lumière Noire is the first installment in the Liquide series, where the shimmering colors and modeling expose the nuances of the moving surface.
Mydriaz found the endless creative possibilities of this metal finish during a picture session using colored neon. A new creative method was born when light was used to “paint” a surface worked in brass and retranscribing it in another material. A link between the materials is formed.
